WordPress web design.
No off-the-shelf creative here; everything we design is 100% custom.
The design of your site should match the uniqueness of your brand.
While some WordPress design agencies use off-the-shelf themes and colour them in, everything we do is bespoke.
You don’t want to bend your brand into a pre-designed website; you want a site designed for your brand.
All our sites are designed 100% custom for our client projects with no initial templates or cookie-cutter design solutions.
The design is 100% separate from the code, so you get your site looking how it needs to look for your audience.
User-focused design.
It’s easy to get carried away with the creative. We suggest focusing on the user rather than personal preferences.
There is a lot of evidence to prove that simple websites convert better than complex ones.
Designing from a user-first (user-centric) perspective ensures that the visitor’s needs are prioritized, ultimately leading to a more effective website.
We encourage our clients to de-personalise the design process and focus on user experience and conversion rates.
Our design process focuses on winning new business, not looking pretty, so we design sites to be more effective.
Front- and back-end get the same treatment.
There’s no point having an awesome front-end if the back-end is a nightmare to use.
Developers can occasionally forget that non-developers need to be able to use the tools they build, so our design process also takes in the back-end (admin) of your WordPress site.
All content blocks are designed, not just built; they are given as much consideration as the front-end design so they are easy to use, even for the most inexperienced users.
This approach means that your site not only looks great, but is also super easy to use for your marketing team.
Get a site designed to generate new leads, not just look nice.
Our in-house design team create web designs that convert visitors into new business enquiries by focussing on UX and CRO.
Get A Better WebsiteModular WordPress design.
Rather than designing composite pages or templates, we design content blocks to give you total control over your content.
Content blocks are the sections used to build your pages, so each block is designed as part of an overall ‘design system’ for your site that encompasses all the key elements of your sites UI including:
- Column blocks
- Calls-to-action
- Buttons and interactive elements
- Testimonials
- Service/Product listings & layouts
- And so on
Each block is designed to your approval before being custom built for your site. These blocks are then used to compose pages.
No messing around with settings, code or CSS.
Each block has it’s own stylesheet which means that it looks exactly as it should on the front-end.
We pre-style all your content blocks inline with the approved designs, so all you need to focus on is adding the content.
Each block does come with a limited set of customisable options such as padding, margins, background colours, borders and other basic options to allow you to customise your blocks without straying off-brand.
This makes our sites perfect for larger websites with teams of editors who need to ensure everything on the front-end is consistent and looks exactly how it should.
There is zero requirement for any coding or faffing around with endless settings – publishing becomes a fast and pleasant experince.
We understand what UX and UI really are.
You’ve heard the terms UX and UI before—everyone uses them—but what do they mean?
UX and UI in WordPress Design
WordPress designers often mention UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interface) when discussing how a site looks and works. But the phrase “We need some UX design” isn’t entirely true; UX isn’t just design.
What is UX?
UX is the overall interaction and satisfaction a user has when using a product, system, or service. It encompasses all aspects of that experience, from usability to emotional impact. The process involves research, design, testing, and analysis to create a seamless and meaningful journey that meets the user’s needs and expectations.
In simpler terms, UX is what it sounds like—your visitor’s experience—driven by how your page is designed but goes beyond just the visual elements.
What is UI?
UI is the visual and interactive elements of a product, like buttons, icons, layouts and typography that allow users to interact with it. UI is about arranging and designing these elements to create an intuitive and visually pleasing interface for the user.
In essence, the user interface is what’s designed, and that design shapes the user experience.
How UX and UI Work Together
Design plays a big part in UX, but design itself isn’t UX. A user experience designer shapes how a person feels when using your website, going beyond aesthetics to influence usability and engagement.
We design a user interface that results in a good user experience so you get more conversions on your site.
Process and project management.
Our design process is probably quite similar to other agencies you’ve worked with.
There’s no point reinventing the wheel, so our WordPress design process starts with a brief, goes through design research and planning, and then moves on to wireframes and design concepts.
If you have a preference for an app, we’ll use that (like Figma, XD or Illustrator, for example), and we’ll work on the creative to the approval stage.
To keep things focused we work on one site section at a time, staring with the homepage and design system development, then moving though you site to design the blocks for each site section before moving onto the next.
Design > Development > Approval > Build > Content > Snagging > Testing > Sign-off
This rinse-and-repeat process means that we can schedule everything and keep you informed of project updates using Basecamp for all project comms.
We also use a really handy app that makes providing feedback quick and easy.
