Marketing site for an ADHA & Autism assessment clinic.
A simple website that's designed around the people who need to use it
What did ADHD and Autism Clinic need?
ADHD and Autism Clinic provides private assessment and diagnosis services. They needed a new website that could do two things well: explain their services clearly to people who are often anxious and uncertain, and build long-term organic visibility in a competitive search market.
Private healthcare is a trust-sensitive space. People searching for ADHD or autism assessments are frequently in a difficult position – they may have been waiting a long time on NHS pathways, they may be researching on behalf of a child, and they are making a significant financial and emotional decision. The website needed to communicate clearly, professionally and with the kind of calm authority that gives those visitors confidence.
At the same time, private healthcare search is competitive. Ranking for ADHD assessment and autism diagnosis terms requires a content platform that can produce and publish authoritative material consistently over time – not just a brochure site with a contact form.
The brief was a new design and build from scratch: a clean, focused core site that serves prospective patients and their families, supported by a properly structured blog built for content marketing and long-term SEO growth.
What the site needed to do:
- Communicate the clinic’s services clearly and compassionately to a wide range of visitors
- Build trust quickly with prospective patients and families making a significant decision
- Provide strong SEO foundations for competitive private healthcare search terms
- Support an ongoing content marketing strategy through a properly structured blog
- Give the clinic team full control over content without developer dependency
Our approach
Project overview
A new design and build for a private healthcare clinic. Small core site with a large blog built for content marketing. Full design process from concept to approval, followed by a bespoke WordPress build structured for both patient conversion and long-term SEO growth.
Design
- Full design process from concept through to approval – purpose-built for a private healthcare audience
- Calm, professional layouts that communicate authority and approachability in equal measure
- Clear service information and accessible navigation for visitors who may be anxious or time-pressed
- Responsive across all modern devices from launch
Content and structure
- Small, focused core site covering services, process, team and contact
- Large blog built as a first-class section of the site – not an afterthought
- Blog architecture structured for topic clustering and long-term search authority in ADHD and autism-related terms
- Content publishable by the clinic team without developer involvement
WordPress build
Bespoke build on our own custom starter theme. Purpose-built ACF content blocks give the clinic team full control over service pages, team profiles and blog content without any technical knowledge required. Easy to use from day one – the team can focus on publishing content rather than managing a platform.
SEO foundations
Clean page structure, fast load times and a properly architected blog built to support ongoing content marketing. Private healthcare is a competitive search environment – the site is built to compound in authority over time as the clinic publishes, not to play catch-up on technical basics later.

Technical details
WordPress theme
Built on our own bare-bones WordPress starter theme. No inherited styles, no third-party framework dependencies, no bloat. Before any design work goes in, we run the blank theme through Google PageSpeed Insights and aim for 100 out of 100 on both mobile and desktop. That discipline applies to every project, including smaller sites where the temptation to cut corners is highest.
Plugins
We keep third-party plugins to a minimum. This site uses ACF-powered content blocks edited in the Gutenberg editor. The default WordPress block library was disabled entirely – editors can only use the purpose-built blocks we created, which means every page is built consistently and on-brand regardless of who published it.
Blog architecture
The blog is built as a proper content platform – categories, tags and internal linking structured to support topic clustering rather than just a list of posts. For a clinic whose patients are searching for specific conditions, symptoms and questions, having content that ranks for those terms compounds in value over time. The architecture supports that from day one.
SEO configuration
Page titles, meta descriptions and on-page structure configured throughout. Internal linking planned to pass authority from the blog to core service pages. Fast load times support both user experience and search performance – a clinic website accessed on a mobile in a moment of uncertainty needs to load and work without hesitation.
Why WordPress was the right platform for ADHD and Autism Clinic.
Private healthcare search is won through content. A website without a proper content platform is not competing – it is just present.
Someone searching for a private ADHD assessment or autism diagnosis is not necessarily comparing prices. They are looking for a clinic that understands their situation, explains the process clearly and gives them enough confidence to make an enquiry. The core site does that job. But the patients who convert via organic search have usually read something first – a blog post about what an ADHD assessment involves, an article about the difference between ADHD and autism, a guide to what happens after a diagnosis.
That content needs to exist, be well written, be properly structured and keep accumulating. WordPress is built for that. The blog architecture we created is not a separate section bolted onto a brochure site – it is a first-class part of the platform, structured to support topic clustering, internal linking and the kind of search authority that takes time to build but compounds significantly once it starts working.
For the clinic team, the practical requirement was equally important. They needed to be able to publish content themselves – regularly, without friction, without calling us for every post. The ACF block system makes that straightforward. The editing experience is clean and predictable. New posts go up without breaking anything.
The combination of a site that converts visitors and a platform that earns them is what makes the investment worthwhile long term.
